UKFM Group (Western) – Repeaters

REPEATERS

Many newcomers to the hobby often find themselves using their local repeater as way of getting to know Amateurs out there.  In this part of the country the UKFM Group (Western) administers some 19 repeaters in total, on 4 bands, using 4 different modes i.e. FM, DMR, D-Star & Fusion  For more information go to www.ukfmgw.co.uk where you’ll find details of all the groups repeaters.  Also on there you’ll find details of how to join the repeater group which you may or may not realise relies totally on membership fees to keep all the repeaters on the air.

Sadly repeaters often bring out the worst in people; for details of how to use repeaters visit the RSGB’s ETCC web site where you’ll find an article entitled “How to use Repeaters” – here’s the link to make it easy for you www.ukrepeater.net/operating.htm
